Scary movies for people who don't like scary movies...

As much as I'm embarrassed to admit it, I'm one of those people who avoids scary movies at all costs. Any scenes even remotely nail-biting and I'm hiding behind my favorite throw pillow, willing it to be over.

Hubby can't help but laugh as I yell my frustrations at the TV and beg him to tell me when the scary part is over. "Why is she going in there by herself?" I screech. "Why isn't she turning the light on?" I implore. "Who in their right mind goes into a dark basement alone???"

Somehow, some way, I've been able to sit through a few spooky flicks and I actually enjoyed them. Yes, I still hang onto my pillow for dear life even though I've seen some of the movies on this list more than twice.

Here are my favorites:

The Faculty
I absolutely love this one! It's actually held up pretty well for being 22 years old and I still jump at the scary parts. Plus, the cast is amazing. It'd be easier to tell you who isn't in this movie than who is.

What Lies Beneath
I was tricked into this freaky one by the beautiful filming location and I kept watching because I just had to know what happened. Did I mention it's freaky?

The Cabin in the Woods
When I hear the name Joss Whedon, I come runnin'. He and Drew Goddard wrote the script in three days and I will forever remember it as my first-ever scary movie. Joss is so freakin' brilliant it scares me.

I Know What You Did Last Summer
It's a classic, right?
Once again, I can blame the amazing cast for being the reason I watched this one...and absolutely loved it.

Are you a hard-core horror movie junkie who thinks these movies are too watered-down for you? Or are you a wuss like me? And proud of it!

Which movies would you add to this list? Let me know!

A Reader By Any Other Name

When all else fails, read a book...

I totally agree! I've been getting lost in the pages of romance novels ever since I can remember--and now more than ever. Nothing beats a happy ending.

Every chance I get, all I want to do is escape into a book where I don't have to worry about a darn thing except for how two lovebirds are going to find their happily ever after.

So, which do you prefer to be called? Bookworm, booknerd, or booklover? I've even seen some readers refer to themselves as bookwhores and bookbitches!

Either way, we've been bitten by the reading bug and wouldn't change a thing, right?

Romance from A to Z-ish

Now that I've finished up the #alphatitles book challenge on Instagram, I thought I'd share all nineteen crazy days of paperback stacking with you. I didn't have enough books for some letters of the alphabet like that pesky ole X, but I still managed to round up over 120 romance books for the challenge. Man, that took a lot of sorting through my paperback collection!
