Bradd Pitt ~ Moneyball
I just finished watching Moneyball for the first time and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. (I know, I know, I'm a little behind on my movies.)
As a hockey fan, I expected a movie about baseball and numbers to be incredibly boring, but it wasn't! The story was great and I loved Brad Pitt's portrayal of real-life baseball GM Billy Beane. I have a soft spot for movies based on true stories. There's a reason Brad Pitt has had such a successful career--He's...charming :)
The only thing that would have made this movie better is if it were about hockey instead!!!

Testosterone Overload!
There's so much going on right now! Between hockey playoffs and drag racing my poor little TiVo is working overtime! Are you glued to your TV like me? How about those Flyers?! And Crosby getting in on the fighting?!
I've got hockey scenes to write, so I'd better get back to work while I'm inspired...
I'll leave you with a look at the four-wide racing happening right now in Charlotte.

Decisions, Decisions
Hockey playoffs start tomorrow!
I'm pretty excited about the team match-ups. The Bruins are up against the Caps and the Penguins are playing the Flyers. I like all four of these teams and am torn between who to root for. When the Rangers play the Senators, I know I'll be rooting for King Henrik and the Rangers. Then there are the Sharks and the Blues. The Sharks, heaven help them, find a way to disappoint us Northern Californians year after year, so I won't hold my breath. (But I will be secretly cheering for them because, after all, they are my home team.)
No matter who ultimately wins, I know I'll get all teary-eyed when The Cup is hoisted and history is made. Man, I love this sport.
Who will you be rooting for? Any predictions?

Clinging To My Youth
Today at the mall, I noticed an old lady in a Lincoln Town Car wearing those giant black sunglasses that wraparound. I couldn’t help but wonder if I would be like that one day. Would the day come when I’m spinning through a carousel of sunglasses and see a giant pair of blinders and be drawn to them? Will that old age instinct kick in and I’ll grab those instead of the cute Chanel knockoffs?
Then, will I go to Penney’s and buy several pairs of pants where the waist goes up to my boobs and a pair of those hideous brown orthopedic shoes claiming “Hey, they’re comfortable!"?
Does a time come in your life when this happens? What is the cutoff age? Is it inevitable? And most importantly, HOW CAN WE PREVENT THIS?
